Rev. Nicanor Austriaco, O.P. '20G — God's providence in a pandemic

Rev. Nicanor Austriaco, O.P. '20G planned to spend a sabbatical year at the University of Santo Thomas in the Philippines. However, after the country locked down while he was visiting over spring break, the professor of biology and of theology started working on COVID disease modeling for metro Manila. Father Nic discusses this unexpected foray into public health for a country with limited resources, his PC grant to develop an oral COVID vaccine, and how PC student researchers have contributed to his projects. He also addressed theological questions about the nature of the pandemic and the meaning of the suffering it has caused and his experience finishing his MBA virtually from another time zone.
